Tails, tales, & a bit of wisdom
Stories | Talks | Thoughtful pet care

About me
I’ve spent years learning from dogs — clever, mischievous, full-of-personality pups who teach, heal, and occasionally rearrange your slippers. My stories explore what life with dogs can reveal about patience, presence, and connection.
Along the way, I’ve healed, learned, and been thoroughly outsmarted more times than I can count — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My mission
Every dog goes to bed with a full belly, feeling safe and loved.
How I do it
I care for dogs, write about them, and explore the surprising ways they help us see ourselves more clearly — often giving us what we struggle to give ourselves.
Pawnderings — The Book
Pawnderings began with small stories — moments from dogs met on sits in Kent and south-west France. Cheeky, heartfelt, and quietly wise, they explore what animals can teach us about life, kindness, and the joy of noticing.
Pawnderings — The Book collects those reflections into a collection of tales that make you laugh, pause, and see the world through muddy pawprints and curious noses. Each story ends with a small prompt, inviting you to reflect on what doggy wisdom might mean in your own life.
A perfect gift for dog lovers — or anyone who enjoys seeing the world a little differently.

About Pawnderings
“It's a real gem! As a dog lover, I found this book to be a wonderful, amusing and insightful read. I especially loved the reflection at the end of every story—thoughtful little reminders of “what we can learn from…,” adding depth to the charm and humour."

About care
"Hester is a 5-star pet sitter and we loved having her. Her communication was excellent and I felt very comfortable leaving our animals and property in her care. Our collie totally adored her and wouldn't leave her side. Would love to have Hester petsitting again for us and I would not hesitate recommending her."

About care
"Hester’s calm, steady approach with Pipa has been incredibly reassuring. She takes things slowly, respects Pipa’s space, and shows real commitment to building trust. After a few visits and garden sessions, Pipa gradually began to trust her and is now comfortable and confident in her care.
