Welcome to Pawnderings

Small stories. Big smiles. Accidental wisdom.

Every animal has a story. Every person has one too.

And sometimes the smallest moments tell us the most.

I collect the odd, the lovely, the funny and the unexpectedly meaningful — and turn them into stories, conversations and ideas.

Come for a smile. Leave wondering.

Every animal has a story. Every person has one too. And sometimes the smallest moments tell us the most.

I collect the odd, the lovely, the funny and the unexpectedly meaningful — and turn them into stories, conversations and ideas.

Come with curiosity. Leave with a smile.

When you leave...

However you find your way into Pawnderings, my hope is the same.

That you leave with a smile, a little more curiosity, and perhaps a slightly different way of seeing something you thought you already knew.

I like the idea that a small story,  a funny observation or an unexpected thought can make us pause for a moment and notice more of what’s already around us.

Come curious. Leave smiling.

Meet Hester

I've always been fascinated by the little things we notice, feel, and struggle to put into words.

Whether I'm spending time with a dog, talking with a founder, writing a story or walking through a forest, I'm usually noticing what's already there — and trying to bring it to life in a way that makes people smile, think, or see something differently.

That's how Pawnderings came to be.

Finding freedom

My live, raw, weekly diary. No marketing fluff—just the unpolished reality of midlife resets, moving across borders, and surviving the storm.

Notes from your dog

Short, funny observations from dogs who have plenty to say about their ridiculous humans.

About Pawnderings

“It's a real gem! As a dog lover, I found this book to be a wonderful, amusing and insightful read. I especially loved the reflection at the end of every story—thoughtful little reminders of “what we can learn from…,” adding depth to the charm and humour."

About care

"Hester is a 5-star pet sitter and we loved having her. Her communication was excellent and I felt very comfortable leaving our animals and property in her care. Our collie totally adored her and wouldn't leave her side. Would love to have Hester petsitting again for us and I would not hesitate recommending her."

Elaine S.

About care

"Hester’s calm, steady approach with Pipa has been incredibly reassuring. She takes things slowly, respects Pipa’s space, and shows real commitment to building trust. After a few visits and garden sessions, Pipa gradually began to trust her and is now comfortable and confident in her care.
