Meet your pup's person

Hi there, I'm Hester

In memory of my beloved Rottie, Uzo, who passed away in June 2023, I am dedicated to caring for pets and finding creative inspiration in every paws-on-the-ground adventure.

Powered by tea, mud, and dogs

Just before writing this, I was probably standing somewhere slightly chaotic—mud on my boots, a dog making their own interpretation of “recall,” and me quietly accepting that dignity is optional. That about sums me up: animals first, everything else negotiable.

Dogs have been my greatest teachers. Clever, sensitive, chaotic, funny—always entirely themselves. And if you pay attention, they show you things about life you didn’t know you needed reminding of.

That’s what I do. I watch dogs. I notice the small things. And I turn what they teach us into stories. Not polished theories—just real moments that make you laugh, pause, and occasionally recognise yourself in a dog who has absolutely no interest in your emotional complexity.

The storytelling bit

I write Pawnderings—cheeky, heartfelt dog stories that are equal parts chaos and clarity. The kind that make you laugh, then think, then look at your own dog slightly differently.

The talks & workshops bit

I speak to teams and students about what dogs quietly teach us about showing up fully, belonging, and paying attention to what matters.

At the heart of it all

My work is simple: noticing what dogs already know, and helping the rest of us remember so that we can live a little more like they do.
